If you prefer to indulge in an alcoholic beverage every so often, leave your cash at home if you plan to do your drinking in a brick and mortar betting house. I am serious. Empty your billfold, your wallet, and keep all cash, bank cards and chequebooks at home. Take just the cash you are planning to spend on drinks, tipping and whatever pocket change you intend to lose and leave the remainder behind.

Contemptuous? Not really. Realistic more like. You might well experience a success after a drunken night out with your buddies and be fortunate enough to catch a 25 minute roll at a smokin’ craps table. Hang on to that story because it’s as short-lived as it gets if you continually drink and gamble. The 2 just don’t mix.

Keeping your money at home is a bit drastic, however preventative actions for drastic behavior is relative and required. If you gamble to succeed, then do not consume alcohol and bet. If you are able to afford to throw away your money without a second thought, then consume all the no cost alcohol your belly can hold, but do not take debit cards and checks to throw into the combination of going after losses after your drunk as a skunk brain loses all the cash!
